Aside from being the music insider with unbeatable access to the universe of music and fueling pop culture conversations, MTV has launched Things That Matter 2014 (TTM) at www.mtvasia.com/ttm to celebrate youth and champion the issues that matter to them.
The millennial population stands at 2.5 billion worldwide. Viacom International Media Networks, home to the biggest and boldest youth brand, MTV had set out previously to create a definitive guide to this generation’s distinctive attitudes, behaviours and aspirations via its The Next Normal study.
With more access to information than ever, millennials today take global trends and localize them to their own place and experience. To understand this better, the MTV TTM 2014 campaign taking place till 4 January 2015 will culminate in a top 10 ranking of things that mattered most to young people in 2014.
To kick start public votes and conversations, MTV has also gathered the thoughts of what some Asian stars like Boys Republic, Joe Flizzow, SonaOne and well-known personalities like MTV’s VJ Alan had to say about things that resonated with them at the Star Buzz page. The initial list of social phenomena observed in the past 12 months includes topics like Pharrell Williams’ “Happy,” music streaming services, “#OOTD,” and the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. Which of them will take top spot on MTV TTM 2014?
Check out the MTV TTM 2014 website at www.mtvasia.com/ttm to start casting your votes and invite your friends and peers to share their thoughts with MTV!
